“Back in the game!” - Cameron 10 Things I Hate About You

New Franz Ferdinand

For those of you hipsters out there into the Franz, I’m sure you’ve heard of their new album coming out.  I was able to catch track 06 at Intellectual Props today and it’s definitely amazing.  I’ve heard people liken FF to Killers in that “their first album rocked and they haven’t come out with anything good since.”  Well that’s just a bunch of crap.  Bands change, people change…if you want them to sound the same all the time maybe you should just put that “holy album” of yours on repeat.

Check out Franz Ferdinand’s site for news and updates.

American Idol

So Liz has been getting me to watch American Idol with her recently.  I think the show is pretty stupid.  She’s been begging me to blog about it.  I think some of the audition stuff isn’t too bad, but I really can’t stand the actual show when they get up and sing all the time.  I think the main reason is because it’s just not my scene.  I’m not really into pop music.  I’ve always been a big fan of the metal and rock.  As a child I used to love tuning my little radio, around the age of 4, to some CRAZY station where I think they were playing speed metal.  My mom would inevitably hear the racket and make me turn it off.  About a decade later I was reunited with what I believe was Iron Maiden back in the day.

So yeah, I think the American Idol stuff is crap.  There are a few people with some interesting stories, but that’s about where I draw the line.  There’s a lot of drama, unnecessary drama, that just gets annoying.  That crazy girl that cries all the time?  I’m glad Simon asked her to please try to not be annoying.  I usually just play my DS or stare off into space while the show is on.
