Technology for Teaching 2007

Today’s day one of the 5th annual Technology for Teaching conference at work.  I’m teaching 3 classes today and am currently sitting in Rukshan’s blogging class.  In the previous hour I taught my first class on Irfanview and using the Photo Album feature of PowerPoint.  I also sat-in/helped with a couple Turning Point classes.  AJ, from TP, drove up and taught one of the sessions.  He also saved our bacon by letting us use his laptop when the computer in the room needed an update to work.  Tomorrow I’ll be teaching two more classes; one will be on using webcams in the classroom and the second will be on podcasting.

The podcasting session is something I’ve been looking forward to and actually started creating the presentation materials for it a few months ago.  Quinn from the education department will be “riding side-car” with me and will talk a little bit about a podcast he does with an elementary book club.  I’ll be highlighting the Lebowski Podcast of course.

Getting ready for this conference is always a lot of work coupled with a few stressful days.  However, once we actually get to these two days in the summer, they’re pretty enjoyable.
