For all of you Mighty Ducks fans out there, movies not the franchise, I’m sure you recognized the reference to the “other” goalie. If you’re not quite sure who I’m talking about, here’s a link to her IMDB page - Colombe Jacobsen-Derstine.
Now fast forward to today. Liz and I have been watching a show on the Food Network called “The Next Food Network Star”. When I saw the first episode I immediately thought, “Colombe looks just like that goalie from Maine in the Mighty Ducks movies. She looked like her and sounded like her. I told myself that couldn’t be her though because these are all just ‘average joes’ trying to get their own cooking show. Well last night we watched the finale and found out that Amy, as we had hoped, was the winner. Becky, who has been visiting, immediately noticed Colombe. So I had to look it up and as I had originally thought, it was her. It’s weird to think that people my age are on TV competing for their own cooking show. I guess that means I’m getting old.
