Getting better

So I went out today to something that wasn’t work or the hospital or to a doctor. Today is the first day I haven’t been constantly aware that my lungs are being forced to work. So that’s a start at least. Still can’t do much or I get really tired or I start having breathing problems. I still got a week to continue feeling better.

Rapid weight loss

Whenever I get really sick with my lungs I always lose weight. There’s something about having to work extra hard to breathe that just sheds those pounds. In just 8 days I’ve lost 8 or 9 pounds. I know professional boxers can lose up to 30 pounds in a fight, but that’s just water weight. How else could you “safely” lose this kind of weight? It’s not like I’m skipping meals or anything. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Last night I even had a huge plate of pasta with sauce and about 4x as much cheese on it than would be recommended.

Hopefully I don’t get so skinny that I lose my fat-man status. That would just be embarrassing.

Oh, and on a side-note, I went to an asthma doctor yesterday. Turns out back in May when I switched from Flovent to Advair, the general practitioner doctor that prescribed it to me did the math wrong. I’ve been on half the dosage I should have been on for the past 6 months. Hmmmmmm, maybe that explains my months-long feeling like crap and recent trip to the hospital.
