coke commercial

Do you guys remember that coke commercial playing in theaters where there’s a guy named Fritz who built a time machine, traveled to the future, got some coke, and then shared it with a bunch of historical people? Well if you did, then you probably just loved to the song playing. If you didn’t like the song, well, you probably need help or something. Anyways, if you were wondering who that is and what the song is called, I found out.

The singer is Paolo Conte and the song is called Via Con Me. Here’s a link to Amazon where you can buy an album of his with the song on it. It’s track three.

Happenings

Ants
I’m having ant problems in my apartment. I hate ants. I got swarmed by them as a small child once and have been on bad terms with the critters ever sense. I have little ant traps all over, but some of them are just too smart to eat the poison. What happens is every once in a while there’s one crawling on me which I just hate. Now I find myself getting random phantom ant feelings every once in a while and it kinda drives me nuts.

Masonic Temple
I was in the Muncie Masonic Temple tonight. It was dark. There’s lots of doors and rooms and small hallways and stairways. It’s creepy. That’s all I have to say.

Movies
I watched 5 movies on Friday. I think that qualifies as a marathon. Lately I’ve been watching some samurai movies. They’re pretty rockin.

AC
I’m so glad I finally got air conditioning since it has recently gotten so hot and humid. It can get pretty hard to breathe when it gets this nasty.

Movie Nights
Wednesday nights have been going well this summer. If you’d like to make an appearance, let me know and I can put you on “the list”.

Pizza?

This morning I was in the science building and I caught a wiff of something that reminded me of my high school’s crappy pizza. I say “crappy”, yet I loved that stuff. It came in the large rectangle sizes that fit into the main entre square on your tray. We used to dip em in ranch dressing. On pizza days you always got salad, some fruit and a cookie. The pizza would come in sausage or cheese. On rare days they might have pepperoni, but the meat they used for that wasn’t too great and it was usually pretty greasy.

I really wish I could have a couple hunks of that pizza right about now…

Movie Night

Well, I thought this week might be a bust since it was raining so hard, but Jordan and Adrienne came out and it was a blast. They have officially brought conversation back to movie nights. I feel like writing about Capote here, but I’ll save that for a post on the movie blog.

I heard back from Aaron (The Voiz) tonight and he would like to interact with Dale’s class so that’s awesome! I randomly came upon Aaron’s vlog not long after he started it and have been a fan of him ever since. Yeah, we’ve never talked in person or seen each other, but I feel like he’s my friend. I’m looking forward to more interaction with him in the future.

Random Thought

As a kid I was led to believe that most female spiders kill all other spiders in its area when laying an egg sack. If this is true, then how come this integral part of the plot didn’t make it into the book/movie Charlotte’s Web?

Back to lifting

Lifting for real that is. After a year of some semi-serious asthma problems, I’m finally getting back into the swing of things in my exercising. It’s almost embarrassing how weak I am and how small my arms are sometimes. Yesterday was the second week of doing lunges and straight leg dead lifts. I think my legs have suffered the most because I have been lifting about once a week, but that was mostly upper body stuff. Somebody asked me the other day if I’m trying to get skinny for the wedding. The answer to that would be “no.” I’m not worried about how I look in November, I’m just trying to get back on track to where I should be. I’m about 15lbs heavier than I should be for this time of year, but I think that should be taken care of soon.

In other news, Dr. Toll informed me I looked like a cancer patient this morning. He saw me walking down the sidewalk pushing a cart. Apparently the bald head made it look like I was going down the sidewalk pushing an IV stand. I think I’ll just have to give Toll a dollar for that.

No more edited movies

There are companies out there that edit movies for sex, nudity, language, etc and then re-sell them as “safe”. According to this article, they can’t do that anymore. I’m sure some people will heartily disagree with me on this one, but I feel like art shouldn’t be censored in this way. I have the same feelings about edited music. If it’s so bad that you shouldn’t listen to/watch it, then shouldn’t you just avoid it altogether?

Moser’s married

It finally happened. Moser got hitched. JRod and I got up super early on Saturday morning to make the trip to Chicagoland. It ended up being a very long day, but it was worth it. There ended up being a ton of people there. I got to hang out with Toll, Bleu, Kuhn, Zacky-G, Luke, C-Wilz, Cole, Little Moser and a few others. It was a good day.

I’ve also been watching some Freaks and Geeks today. That makes for a very good afternoon.

Adding to the collection

I’m now the proud owner of Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared. It’s really amazing to watch em on dvd instead of the cheap versions I downloaded ages and ages ago. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d have to rate this acquisition a 23.

On a side note, it’s off to Moser’s wedding tomorrow. Hopefully thickburgers will be bought on the way home.

Hormigas

or ants the english speaking world calls them have infested my apartment. It started out with some coming in by the window and yesterday they were swarming my kitchen. I’ve put out some RAID ant killer deals. It’s really weird because when you open the package, it smells like PBJ. No, I wasn’t sniffing it, the smell just sort of overpowers you. Apparently that’s the greatest, most powerful, drawing smell known to the little insects. I wish I had a camera to take pictures or video of the little guys. It’s crazy. I haven’t seen much activity this morning though. I’m not sure if they’re dying or if it’s just because it’s cooled down.
