Subway

I just ate another 12″ of delectable sandwich. That’s twice in one week. I feel like a drug addict who has just slipped back into their old ways of shooting up heroin. Let’s hope I have the self-will to not let this get out of hand.

Moonlighting

Occasionally I’ll do some work on the side for people. This usually ends up being frustrating for me so I don’t really advertise my services. Usually people have these really old, crappy machines that are 5+ years old and want them to work like they just came off an assembly line Wednesday of last week.

I recently just got done doing some work for a guy here in town who knows my boss and used to work there. We ended up not really being able to get things working. It only took 3 days and a total of 7.5 hrs to figure it out. First the CD-ROM drive pooped out, then the USB ports didn’t work, then we find out the power supply can’t push out enough power to use the USB ports, etc, etc. So in the end, all the parts he bought were taken out and I guess he’s going to try and take them back. My best advice would be to lose the 1998 paper weight and get something else. At least I made a little money on this one. I usually feel bad charging people normal rates if everything doesn’t work out like they hoped. I usually try to stay away from helping people I don’t know. I’ve gotten screwed on payment and people sometimes get real pissed off about the dumbest things. What they don’t realize is the prices I charge are cheap. It costs an average of $80 for somebody to come to your door and then they charge hourly rates on top of that. Maybe I need to start doing that kind of work.

Making Progress

So my dad sent me some money for Christmas and tonight I wrote him a very brief note saying thank you. This probably sounds stupid, but that’s a big step for me.

Draper?

Today while driving past Morris I see this kid waiting to cross the road that looks just like a blonde Draper. I’m not talking about the venerable, skunk hat wearing OompaLoompa from SammyII. I’m talking about the funny, awkward, Wisconsin boy that moved to my school district in high school and tried to play football. The kid that, even though he was probably 6-8 inches taller than me, had the strength and mental wit of a 6th grader. I think one of the best times was when he decided to pick on Rod Bailey and got thrown over the top of the lockers. That had to have hurt coming down.

ugh

Another day of ‘rest’ due to my lungs. It kinda drives me nuts sometimes. On a lighter note, I do have groceries now and I finally saw Millions. I think this is my new favorite Christmas movie. It’s good. It’s subtle. It’s about what to do in a morally blurred situation. This is definitely making it on my top 10 list.

T-Bell

I just need to announce that I had some taco bell the other day. Crunchwrap supreme and two cheesy gordita crunches. It was good.

more 2k5 happenings

So I started this last week and forgot to post it. I had a bunch of things in my head but I’ve forgotten what else I was going to put on here. Anyways, here’s some more….

2k5

Well, people seem to always be doing these ‘end of the year’ things and I haven’t done one yet. In fact, this last part of the year we knew as 2k5 A.D. left me not blogging nearly as much or as indepthly. Part of the reason I started doing this blog thing was to get some of the thoughts out of my head. Now this doesn’t mean that I spill everything to my friend, the internet, it just meant that this was one way to share some of the stuff in my head. Some of the more intelligent thoughts come and go with certain things currently going on in my life, movies I’ve seen, books I’ve read, and conversations had. Some of those thought get verbalized to certain people and then I don’t feel the need to stand on my soapbox and type about them.

So anyways, here’s some of the happenings of this past year in no particular order:
-Finding The Voiz(linked on side) and other sweet videobloggers
-Another round of moving
-Movies, movies, movies
-PJ’s closing down (insert tear and sniffle)
-Liz
-Weddings
-Pennsylvania road trip with Liz and Eric Dubya Davis
-Staying with the Shorb’s on above roadtrip
-4th of July with the guys out at Telman’s
- taking two spanish classes for free where I work and brushing up on la lengua materna
-discovering Hollywood Bar and Filmworks
-Trips to Funlumbus
-Another summer of movie nights
-Eating good Pizza King
-Acquiring a red stapler
-Green Day concert
-Cooking with habaneros (I know the tilde isn’t there but the font gets screwy sometimes)
-Ice storm
-Having Shorb for a neighbor
-Phone at work
-Arrested Development and Mr. Show

Ok, so I’ve listed a lot of things here and I’m tired of listing. I think you’re getting the point. I just figured out I’ve seen 36 movies that came out last year and there’s 39 more I know of that I wanted to see. So many movies…so little time. And on that note I think it’s time to stop typing for the night, put some clothes away and get some sleep.

P.S. - Top 10 movie list is on its way.

New Landlords

I got a letter in the mail today from the landlords announcing they have sold the place. Hopefully the new owners aren’t jerks and my rent doesn’t go up or anything like that.

Can I put a hit on allergies?

The mob seems to be capable taking care of so many problems. Can they give my allergies an offer they can’t refuse?

Didn’t make it into work today. This seems to happen sometimes when I’ve been gone for a while. I was in Florida and Iowa. I was feeling great. I felt like I could talk ‘normal’. Then I came back to Indiana. Then I went back to work. Then I was getting really hoarse by the end of the work day and not talking right at all. Drinking lots of water didn’t help as usual. Then the next morning I really feel like crap and just can’t seem to get out of bed. Allergies, sinus headache, etc.

I only got one thing to say. Shame on you ’stuff that bothers me at work’. Go do something constructive like get some schooling, a haircut and a real job.
