Firefox extensions

I like Firefox a lot. So much that I feel dirty using IE. I also love all the cool extensions I can download and use with my cool browser…until today.

I’ve recently been having lots of problems getting flash and quicktime stuff to work and have traced the culprit. Little ol innocent Adblocker. Once I got that uninstalled all the Flash and Quicktime I want pops up. Adblocker may be young, but I think he’s gonna get tried as an adult on this one.

I’m alive

yeah…..I haven’t posted on here in a while….I got nothin.

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. Liz went with me to Iowa. Good food, good times, saw Walk the Line (it’s amazing), and got to see Matt and Kat.

The other day I was telling my boss how people walk by and try to read my email at work. He suggested I get a naked picture of somebody and just keep it minimized for such occasions and then pull it up real quick and act all surprised if somebody’s looking too closely.

Last night I sorta got roped into sticking around for a retirement shindig. They fed me though. It was a little tiny piece of steak but I’m sure it was really expensive. Banquet food always seems to cost way more than it’s worth. It was really good though. I also got to meet a guy from SammyII that graduated in ‘92. I couldn’t really think of anybody I know that he would remember. Part of the problem for me is that I only know nicknames of a lot of people anyways.

Semester is almost over which means my current spanish class is almost over too. That class is so much fun. I feel like it’s not really a class sometimes. Too bad all my classes weren’t like that when I was in college. End of semester also means A-Group outing. There’s been some discussion as to whether we should go back to Texas Roadhouse or not because we were hit on by Mikey that one time…..it was….awkward. Then other times we always get the same waitress and she always tries to sit on somebody’s lap (usually mine). Apparently I don’t respond in the way she wants me too. All I know is that wherever we go, Bleu needs to sit in the high chair and somebody has to be weird and order something fishy.

I’m dreaming of a white…

Yeah, so it’s snowing…a lot. Joe and I just saw an ambulance and saw cops screaming down the road to what we assume is an accident scene. I’m going to be driving to Iowa today. I always dread driving during the first snow/ice in this state. It seems like nobody knows how to drive. You’d think you’d learn by now that if you’re going 70 on a slick road you won’t be able to slam on your brakes and stop on a dime like you did in July. I just hope it doesn’t take 12hours this year to get to Iowa.

In other news…..I had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful Thanksgiving meal last night, plus I got to see Phil and Ruth who came from Columbus.

Right now I have to hang out here at work for just a little while longer but there’s nothing to do. So what am I doing? I’m listening to soulman’s radio station and typing this. That’s what I call the good life folks. Now if only I had a lazy boy reclining desk chair, a tasty beverage and maybe a snack.

Good Weekend

Friday Liz, Robby and I hit up some Puerto Vallarta before seeing the new Harry Potter movie. I’m not sure if I’ve seen any of the other ones all the way through or not, but they aren’t that bad. Definitely entertaining. Other than that, I pretty much hung out with Liz.

Yesterday I was helping her grandpa with something and he was talking about South Padre Island. I said, “Oh, I’ve been there a couple times.” He stopped, looked at me and said, “Yeah, you have. You were there drinking beer and raising hell, weren’t ya?” It was hard not to laugh. Apparently he’s been down there many times during spring break and knows first hand what kids do down there. I had to explain to him the couple times I’ve been there was when I was in Reynosa on missions trips and we spent one day at the beach just to relax a bit….not during spring break. I think he believed me.

Today I’ve just been chillin. I’ve started reading Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger. It’s pretty good so far. I also started watching My name is Earl. It’s the new Jason Lee show. It’s pretty funny. The premise is that Earl has started believing in karma so he’s trying to do some nice things to right his list of wrongs. I don’t get a chance to watch it on TV and since I finally installed my replacement drive, I have a place to download them to now.

Next week is Thanksgiving so that means a trip to Iowa. That should be fun. Hopefully I can hit up the favorite pizza and ice cream places. Depends on if there’s time or not.

Brrrrrrr

I’ve kept thinking it’s freaking cold in my room. So I today I took a trip to the circuit breaker box and found a bunch of stuff turned off. Since absolutely nothing is labeled I turned everything on. Low and behold, it’s starting to get warm. I shouldn’t have to wear layers and a hat to go to bed. I may be frugal, but I’m not that cheap.

In other news…..Jack Black is wearing a green ‘Getting Lucky in Kentucky’ shirt in his first scene in School of Rock. I’ve missed this movie so much. I haven’t seen it for months and months. This could possibly be my favorite Jack Black movie. I guess I’ve never really thought about which one I like best.

Here’s a little gem for ya:
Dewey Finn: Ok, here’s the deal. I have a hangover. Who knows what that means?
Frankie: Doesn’t that mean you’re drunk?
Dewey Finn: No. It means I was drunk yesterday.
Freddy: It means you’re an alcoholic.
Dewey Finn: Wrong.
Freddy: You wouldn’t come to work with a hangover unless you were an alcoholic. Dude, you got a disease!
Dewey Finn: Hmmm… hmmm… What’s your name?
Freddy: Freddy Jones.
Dewey Finn: Ok, Freddy Jones, shut up!

Arrested Development even affects Japan

I think GOB Bleuth has started a trend…

KYOTO, Japan (Reuters) - In the latest sign of their chummy ties, U.S. President George W. Bush gave Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi a surprise gift of a Segway electric scooter Wednesday and urged him to take a spin.

Bush, who often refers to his warm friendship with Koizumi, gave the Japanese leader the upright two-wheeler ahead of a summit at which they reaffirmed their close diplomatic ties.

Bush was riding the vehicle when he met Koizumi outside the Kyoto State Guest House in the ancient Japanese capital, a Japanese pool report said.

Urged by Bush to give it a whirl, Koizumi took a brief 1 meter (3 ft) ride, and cried out, “Oh, very good.”

Bush told the prime minister he’d given his father, former President George Bush, and mother, Barbara, Segways for their birthdays, adding he felt Koizumi was almost one of the family.

The close ties between the two allies were on public display later in the day when Bush told a news conference: “Prime Minister Koizumi is one of my best friends in the international community. I know the prime minister well.

“I trust his judgment. I admire his leadership.”

The scooters can be tricky to ride. Bush fell off one two years ago but managed to land on his feet. It is also illegal to ride them on public byways in Japan.

Jason Lee

If you don’t already know this man from his greatness in movies like Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back then maybe you’ll recognize him from others such as Enemy of the State, Almost Famous or Jersey Girl. Most recently however, he has a new TV show called My Name is Earl. If you haven’t seen it then you should at least check out this man’s mustache. I think it’s more formidable than Tom Selleck in Magnum P.I.

So all that being a side story…..I recently found out that people also were unawares he’s an amazing skateboarder. Seriously folks, this guy is talented and hilarious.

Tornado

Crazy weather seems to be all around us this now wintry season. Seventy degrees doesn’t seem so weird in November until all of a sudden a cold front comes in causing rain, flash floods, tornadoes and snow flurries the next day. Mother Nature may have thwarted my plans to see a cool movie in a cool town at a cool theater (that is unfortunately closing soon), but tonight I shall be victorious.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!

Read it and weep. No one will think worse of you.

Sad, sad article

Stuff

Stuff…..I think that’s probably one of my most favorite words. It lets you be so specific yet so vague all at the same time. If you’re not a copious user yourself, giver her a try sometime. I think you’ll like it.

Lots has been happening. Sometimes I forget to post about things because I will have run into so many friends and talked to them about life and whatnot. The weekend was good. Thursday was Carol’s birthday and I got invited to that shindig. Good times and lots of laughs had by all. Friday was another Dot’s Diner Night at the grille. I really have no fun at all going to those things anymore. It’s like I feel obligated because I was one of the main reasons they started happening in the first place. Now it’s this big SAC event and as Toll put it, “…it used to be that only cool people came. Now it’s only the cool people that show up.”

Saturday I was able to get some stuff done then hang out with Liz a bit. She’s on a committee thing at her church for some of what happens during services and stuff like that. Saturday that changed things up a bit and I think it went really well. Then later that night we got to see Elaine, Joe, Lana, Cat, Steve and Sarah and some other people in Muncie. Elaine and Joe were down from Chicago and a bunch of people congregated to hang out. It was cool seeing them.

If you’re into Zach Braff check out that link I have on the side. He recently made a video post on his blog. He gives some camera advice, talks a bit about Scrubs and his most recent projects, etc. It’s even a little long - and by long I mean enjoyable. It’s not a 30sec clip. New episode of Arrested Development on tonight. It should be good. Actually, when has that show ever not treated me well?
