Almost March

I’m glad I was paying attention and noticed it was getting into the mid-20’s of February and sent in my rent earlier than normal. Today wasn’t too bad at work at all today. I was actually getting a lot done. They also finally got my new PC to me today. I’m not sure when I’m gonna get it hooked up though because I’m in the middle of this big slide scanning job. We’ll have to see. The new PC’s are pretty pimp. Dual-layer DVD burners, lotsa fire-wire and usb ports, nice and fast…..and stuff. It should be nice.

Not a whole lot else going on. Got another small vocab quiz tomorrow. Also have the monthly IT lunch with the heads of the IT guys. These lunch meetings are actually cool because we talk about new technologies, what’s going on around campus, etc. It’s also good that we actually work together because they’re the IT guys and we’re the people that usually end up helping the users use the technology they get from IT.

The Oscars party was a lot of fun. Liz and I tied for 4th I think in our predictions. I could’ve had more right, but one a few categories I just didn’t feel right putting down who I figured would win as opposed to who I wanted to win. There were some categories where I just had to completely guess because I hadn’t seen anything nominated.

Oscars

Welp, it’s Oscars tonight. Most people probably don’t care but to a movie lover this can be a big deal. It gives you a chance to speculate, guess, complain, dream and give your opinion on a lot of things. I even got an invite to an Oscar party tonight. It should be fun.

Today’s lunch was quite awesome. I took some tortillas, put in some of the pork I cooked yesterday, covered that with ricotta cheese, then some onions and lots of cayenne peppers and then on the other half put some american cheese. Cooked those up in the oven, folded them over and had me some booyeahlicious tacos. Toll and I were talking the other day….and you know, if I found myself a wife, I wouldn’t have to cook myself mexican food anymore. Now that would rock. The problem is all women I personally know that rock at mexican food are either related to me and/or as old/older than my mom. I also feel like now is a good time to mention I pitty the fools who give up things like meat and cheese cause they meet some girl that doesn’t like to eat those kinds of food.

So JRod’s stopping by today. He started selling knives and he has to give his schpeel to so many people and I volunteered to fill his quota. It’ll be nice seeing the JRod. He’s always got something awesome to say. Well I think it’s time to get back to some That 70’s Show.

Cravings

I’ve been told before that at times I eat like a pregnant woman. Well last night I did my one big monthly buy of food at Walmart….and at 2 something in the AM to boot. That’s about the only time I like going. I can avoid the crowds that way. Well one thing that really rocks my tongue is a bowl of cottage cheese and a bag of nacho doritos to scoop with. You should try it sometime cause it rocks. Now I just have to get some sweet burritos made. Last time I made those was end of December.

Big Red?

Updated
Well, I met up with Big Red and what a glorious event it was. I got to ride in the back for the last 7miles. We basically yelled a lot, waved at people, threw packs of Big Red gum at them and honked the horn a lot. We also timed it so we hit 200k exactly in front of Morris for the crowd of awaiting fans. We tried to call Neville but got his voicemail. So sad he couldn’t be there with us. Afterwards we enjoyed an awesomely decorated sheet cake Shorb got from Walmart.

Now I’m working on cooking 2lbs of pintos. Planning on making some chalupa but I feel the need to make some refried for some burritos as well…..so many choices. If I am deed making chalupa I still need to cook the meat to add in later. Today should be a busy day in the kitchen.

Today is Big Red’s big day….the day he turns 200,000. Last night we were putting some miles on him by driving to the Waffle Steak in Anderson where I got a triple order of hashbrowns with lots of good stuff on them. Jamin and Shorb and working on creating a documentary about this whole thing. The festivities were supposed to start up at noonish today. They gave me a call about 11:30 saying they were on their way back from Gas City. I hopped in the shower about 10min later and have been awaiting their return ever since. I think I missed the gravy train. I really have no idea where they are. They were planning on finishing the final laps around the loop, but I don’t really feel like walking down there to see if they’re looping the loop or not. So maybe they’ll show up back here? I hope lots of people are cheering Big Red on. Neville wrote Big Red a poem. It’s great. If you see Mr. Red, please wish him a happy 200k.

Dream

I just had this weird dream. I was at this restaurant that apparently had the best pizza ever. The menu was huge with all these little pictures of different kinds of pizza. For some reason I ended up sitting with this old guy I’ve never seen before and then these two old ladies were looking for a place to sit and we let them sit with us. Then all of a sudden those 3 people disappeared and I was sitting with friends of mine and my aunt Diane was our waiter. We laughed and joked about stuff and I was correcting people on their use of spanish. I haven’t actually seen my aunt Diane since 1995 I think. She’s kinda been brainwashed and doesn’t have anything to do with us anymore. We used to hang out all the time when I was little. We were best pals.

212

Well, it was really cool when they started the counter up again…..then they quit. So I think this makes it #212. So bust out the party and fanfare folks……cause that’s party material I think.

Just got up from another nice 4hr nap. Sleep really rocks lately. Also really looking forward to that weekend coming up. I got fun things in store like doing some dishes…..maybe buying some groceries……maybe seeing some movies……oh what a life. Well, I should review some vocab stuff for that quiz I gotta make up.

Priorities

Well, let it be known that I bailed going to see a movie for sleep. I was just way too tired to go do something so I caught me a 4hr train called nap. I would really like to just lay back down and chill, but I got some things to finish up first for tomorrow morning. I wish my brain was up to speed. I bet a lot of these things would get done a lot faster.

Work was alright today. People were just pissing me off though. Some dude kept yelling the same thing over and over in the other part of the ETC because he obviously wasn’t being acknowledged by whomever. I wanted to walk out there and tell him to shut up. Then every adult type person that walked by and saw me either wearing a camo jacket or it laying on my chair had a comment like, “join the army?”, “get drafted?”, “ready to fight some iraquis?”, “ooooo - look at mr. army man”, “i can’t see you. where’d you go?” and so forth and so forth. Is it just me or are people really dumb sometimes? I’ve been wearing camo stuff my whole life. It’s officially my favorite color and when I was a kid and adults would tell me it’s not really a color I would default to green. I’ve also been getting stupid comments like that my whole life. I know it’s just the fact I’m low on sleep, my lungs aren’t back up to par, all the medicine I’m taking, etc. But dude - I think anybody would get tired of people coming by with their witty quips. Luckily since the medicine and stuff makes me not hungry, I don’t eat lunch so I can leave an hour earlier. So I got to jet at 3:30.

Tomorrow I’m giving a demo on tablets and showing off the DyKnow software. I just hope I can talk loud enough and clearly enough for people to understand me. Still working on getting back to talking normal. It also doesn’t help that the more I move around and talk, the more it tires me out. Oh well, the week is almost over. Oh yeah, and I’ll be showing up to that class again after my brief sabbatical. I was kinda sad to miss last thursday and didn’t really care on tuesday. I think I have to make up a quiz about sports. That shouldn’t be too bad.

Proctoring tests

That’s right. I’m helping to proctor the business comprehensive exam at the moment. And yes, if you were wondering, I’m technically getting paid to blog at the moment. The breathing is getting a lot better. I went to work yesterday and last night I started getting tired, then sneezed. I think I slept about 13hrs last night which is monumental. Slept right through my alarm and didn’t wake up til 8:30. I was still not with it so I emailed my boss saying I’d be coming in later. Didn’t roll into work til 3 this afternoon. Which wasn’t so bad cause I knew I’d b here til 9 helping with these test things. I could really get used to not working til 3 in the afternoon. I’m still kinda out of it, but continuing my strict drug regiment and (hopefully) more sleep should get me back to normal by the weekend I think.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love tablet PC’s? They pretty much rock your socks off. It’s too bad I don’t have $4k laying around to pick one up. The character recognition on these things is amazing. Way better than any palm pilot I’ve seen. I can just write whatever on the screen and it pretty much can figure it out. A couple times it’s gotten confused but that’s because I’ve just gotten really sloppy and/or have missed a stroke on a letter or something. These also do voice recognition. There’s some tutorial/calibrating program you run and it has you repeat words. The more of those you do, the better it can recognize your speech and commands you give it. I think it’d just be easier to type things on the keyboard and use the mouse/sylus pen….but that’s just me.

Finally saw a movie. Went and saw Sideways last night with Liz, Robby and Jamin. It was a lot better than my initial reaction was to it when I saw the preview for the first time. Paul Giamatti does an amazing job in it. I really don’t understand why Thomas Hayden Church was the one getting nominated for this. At least I know who really did a good job. I would suggest seeing it, although, I must forewarn that there are a couple scenes which would probably offend a lot of people. So go watch at your own risk.

Well, other than that, not a whole lot going on. I might go see Constantine later this week too. I guess after not seeing a movie for a month or so I gotta make up for it.

I Am Sam

You scored as Samwise. You’re Samwise Gamgee! Samwise the brave is the most loyal friend that you could ever ask for. He’ll be there for you through thick and thin, and be willing to do anything for you.

Which LOTR character are you?
created with QuizFarm.com

Yeah, so I just spent 5min monkeying with this extremely horribly generated html code - then i finally just scrapped the picture and cleaned some things up. Well, Crack’s Gandalf and I’m Sam….so where’s the rest of the gang?

Day 4

Well, it’s day 4 of taking lots of drugs and drinking lots of water and not doing much else. I finally fell asleep this morning….between 8:30 and 9. However, I only got like 3hrs maybe of sleep. Good News - I can psuedo yawn. That may not mean much to you, but if you can’t breathe normally you can’t yawn because your lungs can’t pull enough air in. If this doesn’t make any sense to you go smoke cigarettes for 40 yrs and wait til you get emphysema. Then give me a call in 2045 and we can relate. Well I’m really hoping to get some sleep tonight so I can go to work in the morning. Does that sound weird? Wishing to go to work? If I’m awake and make it, I do hope I can at least concentrate enough to get stuff done.

Movies I’ve watched since last post:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Napoleon Dynamite
Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers

Hmmmm…not much else exciting going on at the moment…
