I watched the VP Debates on my computer today after work via the wonderful internet and was wowed by that 90 some minute movie clip. To me Edwards came off as a disrespectful, negative, and flustered Kerry Yes-Man. I watched the other debates last week and it seemed like Edwards didn’t really have a thought for himself. He kept quoting Kerry. There was even one question on what their opinions were and they weren’t supposed to mention their running mate. Cheney answered beautifully, but Edwards just kept mentioning Kerry’s name, catching himself, and then saying ‘we’. Makes you say, “wow”. I was browsing Google News and came across this article that I thought summed it up well. You may not agree with it, but it seemed fair to me.

They should make a song called Insurance Rocks - kinda like Cleveland Rocks only different. So I’ve been having these shoulder problems since my junior year in high school and today, for the first time ever, I talk to a doctor who listens to me and actually tries to figure out what’s wrong. Instead of the ‘must be arthritis….live with it’ or ‘you’ve had tendonitis before? that’s what it is’ I found a doctor that listened to what I had to say and then actually tried to diagnose the problem. Got some x-rays done which confirmed it wasn’t arthritis but there’s probably a rotator cuff problem, which is what I’ve been saying all along. So long story short I’m on some strong anti-inflamatory thingies for 3 weeks and if they’re still bothering me it’s MRI time to see what’s torn. On top of all that I only had to pay $20 to get looked at AND have x-rays and then only $20 for the nifty drugs that would’ve cost me $100. Three cheers for a job with benefits.
It’s also my sister’s birthday today. Tried calling her a few times during half time of the make enchiladas all night show, but she finally got back to me. Apparently she decided not to go to bed last night to celebrate her birthday so she hasn’t had any sleep in 30/40 some hours. Oh yeah, enchiladas. I made 55 tonight. I’m officially out of tortillas and that is a first in a long time. I guess that means no morning quesadilla for breakfast. I’ve invited some people over for thursday to share in the bounty of the enchiladas. It should be a good time. Still not sure who all is showing up yet.
So yeah, good day today. Hopefully nothing crazy happens at work tomorrow.
I’m pretty sure they turned the heat on cause when I got back from lifting tonight it was hot hot hot. I was reminded of the stories from joe and smitty about the steamy showers in London. I checked all the thermostat thingies and they were all on low. Hopefully it’s not gonna be hot like this all the time or I’m gonna have to get it turned off or something. Living by yourself should constitute ambient temperatures of your choice.
Ended up being at work til 6:45 tonight which is kinda late. But that’s ok cause I’m gonna be takin off for a bit tomorrow afternoon. I’ve decided to stop being the “tough” person and go see a doctor. Talked to my mom a bit tonight and this kid who was a year older than me in high school kinda freaked out and was going 70ish down a main street in my town and ran into a semi. Apparently it was the worst head injury the paramedics had ever seen and they’re waiting for his brother to get home to unplug him from life support. That’s kinda weird news. I knew who he was but it’s not like we were great pals or anything.
Well, another TU homecoming. Saw a few people I knew were coming out and got unexpected surprises of people I had no idea were gonna be here. That’s always nice. Smitticus stayed with me. We didn’t do much Friday night but Saturday I spent most of it walking around campus or hanging out with people in Morris. Even got to watch most of Goonies with 007 in UPS’ room. Good times had by all.
My shoulder has miraculously stopped hurting so bad today. It’s weird how it comes and goes. I was talking to my mom though and I think I’m gonna go see a doctor anyways. I’ve been having shoulder problems since 97, wrist and hand problems since 94 and knee problems since 2nd grade-ish. I’ve basically been hurting everyday to some degree for a long time. I can usually just ‘turn it off’ in my head and act normal when I’m around people which can be nice sometimes. I would say it’s a safe bet I’m going to have to have my shoulder(s) and/or knee(s) scoped or more at some point in time. I also have insurance now so I might as well go see a doctor and get some history with him(her) here so that when I’m having major problems again we can go from there. I’m just glad I kept up the lifting and stuff because I know that makes a huge difference. You should see me when I haven’t lifted for 3 weeks or more…kinda like towards the end of August.
