Fall

I really like this time of year…and sometimes I don’t. The foliage looks cool…wow, I said, “foliage”….anyways….yeah the trees look cool and the temperature is nice and ambient. Football abounds and Thanksgiving and Christmas are on the way which means going home for lots of mexican food. The downer is this is the worst time of year for my asthma and allergies. They kind of team up against me. Luckily I don’t live next to a corn field anymore, but there’s still plenty around here and then the leaves falling and people burning them….it can get hard for a guy to breathe. And then there’s that lovely changing weather that wrecks havoc on my pouting knee and shoulder. I think my left knee has pretty much been inflamed looking since July. I got some scars and stuff that don’t always stand out but they’ve been standing out for a while now. I think it was all that running I was doing around town cause they closed down the weight room and I couldn’t lift or use their cardio equipment. I should probably mark that one up to my own fault. It’s hard to find other ways to be active though when you do computer things at work. I keep saying the next time my shoulder really acts up again I’m going to go see a doctor about it. I’m thinking I’ll actually do it this time since I got the good health insurance and all. The last time it “got hurt” again was beginning of May and it’s been doing the constant pop thing since then. It’s not constantly hurting, but the pressure’s always building up and I have to move like every 15min or so or it starts to drive me nuts.

I picked up Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind today during my 3hr lunch. I had to take a 3hr lunch because the Board of Trustees decided yesterday at 4:00pm that they needed somebody to stand there and watch them run powerpoint. Since they’re the “Board” that of course means they don’t have to make that request in advance. So I make some changes to my ‘agenda’ to make it to this and take the long lunch to arrange my hours. When I get back to work at 4pm today to start setting up for them I’m informed they just decided they don’t need me. I was a little annoyed. Luckily my boss rocks and said to just put down 8 hrs for today anyway for having to deal with the inconvenience. My boss rules.
