A week or two ago I spent a lot of time helping out a prof with this big presentation he was making to the Gideons. I think he’s been one for 35years or so and is kinda up there on the food chain. Well, he came by today all ready to sign me up to be a Gideon. The only problem being I don’t feel like being one. I sorta had an out because the requirements to be one is you need a 4yr degree and must be a member of your local church. Well I have a degree but I’m not a member at the church I attend. So it’s kinda like I couldn’t be one. So this prof didn’t understand why I wouldn’t want to be one and was telling me about how the state chapter president of 3,000 members wants me to join cause he loved the presentation I made for Bob and everything. (lovely run-on sentence eh?) I still don’t see why that means I have to join.
Anyways, went and saw Mean Creek with some people tonight. I just posted a little thingy on the movie blog so check er out. I got to meet Liz’s boyfriend which was cool. I’m definitely a fan. Seems like the kind of guy I could really get along with. Had to shake his hand before we parted ways. Maybe I’ll have another chance to sit across from him while enjoying a large plate of cheese fries.
