Well, went to Bleu’s wedding yesterday with Toll, TLoft and Norm. I think I had more fun driving there and back then at the wedding itself. After the wedding we hung out with Matt Murray and Gus Gus. Definitely good times. Matt’s dad even bought us some pizza. To that I saw rock on. I’ve always heard stories about Mr. Murray’s guns and of course some of the guys were asking him to bring stuff out. Most of them were pretty much drooling over them and pointing the guns at each, me, etc. I’ve seen all of the guns he had before, handled similar models, etc. To me they were cool, but not that cool. Also made me just a tad nervous when they were pointing stuff at me. I knew they weren’t loaded, but that still just makes me nervous. I guess because I was brought up with guns, taught to shoot when I was 4, etc. Man, do I ever need to get out and shoot something. I have a couple here with me in Indiana, but I don’t know of anywhere I can just go have fun like back home. In Iowa there’s free public outdoor ranges that is just a huge open space with a very very very large berm for a backstop. You can go out there whenever and just pop a few or few hundred
rounds off. Good times had by all.
Well, my mom’s coming today and I should probably get back and pick a few things up so it looks presentable or something. Like sweep the floors and whatnot. Man, I can’t believe I just said that. The sad part is that I’m actually going to do it. Always while growing up, anytime somebody was coming over my mom would have to vacuum, sweep floors, pick everything up, etc. I thought I’d never do that, but I guess I was trained too well.
Yeah, so Squatz has this stalker named Kayla. It’s a long story so talk to him about it if you want details. She basically calls him a lot and tonight I had the honor to answer his cell phone. I proceeded to act dumb and told her my name was Ralph. I tried to tell her she had the wrong number but to no avail, she kept calling. Eventually I gave the phone to TLoft who informed her that Ralph was really pissed off and went to bed. We then changed Squatz’ voicemail to ‘Ralph’ saying to leave a message. I think she called back about 5 times, but she never left a message. We’re leaving the voice mail thing changed for a while hoping she quits calling.
If you haven’t checked out the Official Garden State web site please do. There’s a link off to the right. If you’ve been there I hope you’ve noticed Zach Braff’s blog. You need to read his latest post about the movie Hidalgo. It’s called Saint Diego
Went to the drive-in last night with Liz and her two friends, Carly and Jeff. It was fun except for the mosquitoes that attacked my head. Twas my own fault though cause I had brought a sweatshirt, only stupid me left it in my car. Hopefully I can learn from this experience. The movies that played were Dodgeball and The Terminal. Dodgeball was funny, but definitely not as funny as Napoleon Dynamite. I did enjoy it though. I really liked when the coach said, “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.” Then proceeded to throw wrenches at them. The Terminal seemed pretty good, but I’m not sure how I feel about it overall since we didn’t get to see the ending. The projector broke at the end and melted the film. So they said to come back some other time for a free movie. We’ll have to take them up on that.
Well, I decided to follow through with the movie thing. I decided to make it a group blog at the suggestion by Tara. This way multiple people can post to it. We’ll have to see if this takes off or not. So far I have just one post for Bottle Rocket. Hopefully more to come soon.
Ok, random thought here. If you didn’t know, I watch a bunch of movies. I was thinking of maybe starting up another blog where I would only post what movies I’ve watched lately. Good thought? I could just through my thoughts on movies into this blog, but a lot of times people ask me about certain movies and I was thinking I could just point them to a separate blog. Please let me know what you think.
Yeah, so I sign onto IM a bit ago and then CJ signs on and start talking to me. I haven’t talked to him since…January? I’m really not sure when. It’s been really weird with him since some stuff happened back in September. Myself and others have just really felt like he was pushing us away. I eventually stopped trying to call him and stuff because it just got really awkward. I’m not sure why. It’s really hard to explain. So maybe this is the start of us talking again. I guess time will tell.
So I was just thinking the other day I haven’t had very many deep thoughts for a while and I think that’s because I haven’t been reading a though-provoking book as of late. I finished up Blue Like Jazz and haven’t started another one. Now I’m still reading Jordan’s series, but that’s just entertainment. Squatz has his previous book, Prayer and the Art of Volkswagon Maintenance. I should probably pick that up and start on it while I have access to a copy that’s not going to cost me $35.
Well I had a couple funny stories, but I really don’t feel like typing anymore. So maybe some other time.
P.S. - Check out the new Garden State web site
yeah, so in my boredom at work i put my lame computer-hacking skills to work and edited my template to have some links to my friends’ blogs. Pretty cool eh? Alright, if I catch you calling me a nerd I’ll pound you.
Yeah, so I was gonna say something about this last night but couldn’t…anyways, my friend Kat started up a blog. I think that’s awesome. She’s like my big sister and uber-cool. She likes guns, listens to bands like Metallica and Rob Zombie, used to lift with us, loves South Park, etc, etc, etc. She’s also moving down to KS so that means I won’t see her as much. Can’t blame her though. There’s not much in Eldridge to hold you back if you have dreams and aspirations. It’s a great town, but there aren’t a lot of jobs for a lot of different fields or areas of study or whatever you want to call it. But I guess I can’t complain too much cause I’ve basically been living in Indiana since the fall of 99. Well, I should probably get back to that thing called work.
Yeah, so I couldn’t post last night because Blogger had some scheduled downtime that I so conveniently didn’t feel like reading the notice they posted on the main page. Oh well. So I had one of the most amazing lunches yesterday. I’ve been making my own tortillas and I took some corn ones I had, lightly toasted/fried it in a pan, flipped it, threw some shredded cheddar and muenster on there then waited til the cheese melted. They were amazing! For some reason it reminded of me this restaurant we went to sometimes when I lived in Phoenix. I couldn’t tell you the name, but I remember they’d bring out food for people that was on fire. I know that probably sounds weird, but….anyways. Had a pretty good run last night, except for how humid it was. I think my pace was the fastest it’s been since I started running again only the breathing issue….stuipd asthma. I’m just glad I had a new inhaler in a box cause my other one has decided to disappear on me…sorta like my ol trusty TU sweatshirt. I bet it’s the underpants gnomes….jerks.
I was browsing that wonderful thing called the internet and found out a very valuable piece of information. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind comes out on DVD October 5th. That also happens to be my sister’s birthday so I guess that makes it a very important day. So I guess that means I’ll go get the movie and then call her while the previews are playing? Just kidding, I’ll call her after the movie.
Word of the day - check it out.
P.S. - on a more nerdy note, i have received confirmation that the DSL is up and running again.
