I hear that’s what drunks call it when they break through the haze. Well, I’m not so much in a daze anymore and can almost talk normal. Went into work for 6hrs today. Won’t be in tomorrow though cause they’re waxing tomorrow. Was huffing and puffing a bit at work just because I was up and moving around. Walking around doing normal stuff doesn’t exactly seem strenuous until you have problems getting enough oxygen in your blood. Well, enough about my ‘chronic lung disease’.
My motherboard came back from NewEgg! However, they didn’t send me a new one. It came in a cardboard box, not a mb box. I also didn’t have any of the accessories so I called them up and convinced them to send them to me. But at least I’m up and running again. Well, not much else going on. Maybe something exciting will happen tomorrow.
Well, I finally wimped out or wised up depending on how you look at it. An hour ago i ever so slowly creeped out of my bed, went to the closet and got out my nebulizer (a.k.a. - breathing machine). It’s one of those nifty things they do for asthmatics when you have to go to the hospital. I’ve been told I’m lucky to have my own but I don’t know if I’d call it luck. That just means I have asthma bad enough to need my own cause trying to go to the hospital isn’t worth the wait. Well I’ve used it twice in an hour (my record is 3x back to back to back). The bad thing is I actually feel better. That means it was a really good thing I used it. I know my lips were purple, but they weren’t blue yet…man I hope my mom doesn’t read this cause she’d flip out on me. Anyways, if you’ve ever taken asthma drugs before you know about the shakes and if you’ve used a nebulizer before then you really know about the shakes. I need to find some caffeine. That’s about the only thing that brings me down a bit. Hopefully I’ll get some sleep tonight…who knows. I’m really not sure what to do about work tomorrow. I guess I’ll just wait and see. Today they were doing the floors in the back room and the smell from the chemicals was killing me. I guess I’ll just have to be patient and worry about each hour at a time. Whelp, time to find some mt. dew cause it’s getting hard to type.
I haven’t been making my post-a-day quota that I thought I might keep when I started this thing and I’m ok with that. Some days you’re just busy and have stuff to do. Last night went and saw Bourne Supremacy with Mahan, Michael and Brahm. There was something in the theater that set mine and Tim’s allergies off like none other. Tim’s nose was running horribly and my eyes started swelling up and I could hardly breathe. Really sucked. I had my eyes closed half the movie cause I could hardly see anything otherwise. Then the asthma kicked in. Oh how I hate my bronchial tubes sometimes. Ended up not going to church today. Pretty much laid in my bed til 1:30. Then when I do get up I can’t walk around at normal speeds and stuff. Spent most of the afternoon doing laundry at Nathan’s. Took over Ghost World and Apt Pupil to watch while my clothes got clean. Watched Ghost World with the spanish subtitles on. I love watching movies with the subtitles cause it’s a good way to learn some phrases and words. Plus, it makes my brain think a bit. Another cool side affect is it sometimes puts me in what I like to call “spanish mode” where I start talking and thinking everything in spanish without making the effort. I know this happened a few times at work during the school year when I’d be putting tests and quizzes online for spanish profs cause Mel has said I start talking in spanish to her. It’s weird sometimes cause I don’t always realize I’m doing it…but it’s kinda cool too. Just wish I was more fluent.
Well, another one bit the dust. Lloyd is now a married man. I got one more wedding for the summer and that’s Crack Timmy’s next weekend. He’s getting married to THE MAN’s daughter, Jennifer Campbell. She’s really cool and she and Crack are really meant for each other. It should be a fun wedding. Well not much else going on. Currently talking to the hermanita online, gonna laminate my Napoleon Dynamite poster when the laminator is warmed up, and hopefully Squatz should be back soon.
Did any of you ever wear husky jeans as a kid? Toll and I kid about this every once in a while and for some reason Norm brought up the word a few minutes ago while I was talking to him. Well I wore some huskies at one point in my life cause I was a fat kid. I still am a bit of a fat kid but at least now I’m not all chub…or at least I like to think so. Yeah, so I just watched Adaptation tonight. Kinda made me think a bit about how people treat each other and how people perceive they’re being treated some times. One of the characters in this movie is really paranoid about what others think and another just doesn’t care. I can definitely look back at different times in my life where I’ve embodied both of these attitudes. Why do we do this to ourselves? I think I can safely say I usually don’t care about what people think on the non-important issues at this point in my life. Important issues would be things like looking presentable at work so my boss doesn’t think I’m an idiot or not seeing how loud I can belch in the middle of a church service cause it’s just not the right thing to do. Oh well, just another random thought.
Hey do any of you out there have any suggestions for books I need to read? I was going to buy How Movies Helped Save My Soul by Higgens (recommended by Neville) and then noticed I can get free shipping if I spend $25. I’m thinking of Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by Sedaris based on Liz’s recommendation earlier this summer. So can you think of any other must-read titles I should get with free-shipping?
I’m starting to wonder what happened to the two guys hitchhiking to the premiere of Garden State. They made three posts and then there’s nothing. I think I’m the only person who even commented on their blog. Hopefully they aren’t dead in a ditch or anything. Man, that’s a horrible thing to think.
On a lighter note, still looking extremely forward to the movie coming to my area soon.
Have you ever been around somebody that wears so much perfume/cologne that it hurts your nose? Well I’ve been experiencing that for a while now around a certain person and sometimes it makes me sneeze. No fun at all. I don’t feel comfortable saying anything to them though cause it just wouldn’t be the right thing to do.
There’s actually been a decent amount of stuff going on here at work today. Nothing too crazy, just a constant stream of stuff. I can handle that better than insanity or absolute boredom. Still waiting to hear if NewEgg has received that motherboard I RMA’d them last week. Hopefully they send me a replacement soon. It’d make things much easier.
Watched Shattered Glass last night. It was a pretty good movie. Brad was my only guest like last week but that’s fine cause Brad is cool. The one eerie thing in the movie was how much Stephen Glass reminded me of my dad who also has problems telling the truth. It’s definitely interesting looking in on other people affected by a liar as opposed to personally dealing with it yourself. Well, not much else going on at the moment. I should watch some more movies in order to make some more posts.
Well, I finally have a place to sit down and eat. Gaylon and Andrea back home gave me a kitchen table and chairs, but I just finally got it out here in Indiana. My mom and Andy brought it up yesterday. It’s always nice seeing some of the family every once in a while. I made them some sopapillas and of course there were way more than we could eat so it might take a few days to finish them off. Did anybody else get that random, crazy rain yesterday? It was sunny, thundering, lightening, and then pouring….and then it got dark outside. Seemed kinda backwards to me. Well, I need to get a couple things done here at work cause they’re gonna be coming up here in a bit.
